I’m of the opinion that given the new ownership is now in place and got a sense of what lies ahead, part of that price is gonna be a relegation and a wholesale recalibration of the team and governance structure.
If offered that as part of the condition of sale I would have embraced that as we were never ever going to do anything with that pariah Ashley, at the helm. Just glad he’s finally away along with his spiv chav branding.

Given the vandalism Ashley’s wrecking ball did to the club, it looks like an impossible task to save the season. Miracles do happen but tend to take longer.
I can live with that now given the reality of our current position. Imo we have too high a mountain to climb in too short a time.

Long term mind set now engaged.
I'm with you on that, if the trade off for getting rid of Ashley is a season in the Championship then I'd have taken that every single time.

This is the price of 14 years of neglect / negligence under him, everything is rotten to the core.

People say how tough the Championship is, but we would invest in what is needed to have a very strong team, and I don't look at the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth thinking they're particularly amazing teams and both doing well.
I have less fear about getting promoted again, and greater concern about how long a year in the championship will delay the overall project. Feels like it'd just mean more roster churn to prepare for the championship, and then another big overhaul after to try and perform well in the PL.

Dominated play is a hell of a stretch, I don't think we did anywhere near enough to deserve a win. One shot on target, and Watford had a few chances before they scored, it never ever felt comfortable.

We need to improve our play all over the pitch, and it needs to happen quickly. A new CB will help (and Fernandez apparently coming back to fitness is a bonus if Howe has the balls), but without a creative midfielder I really worry.
Maybe I exaggerated in calling it dominance, but it felt like we were really in control for a while, even if all of our half chances should have been more threatening. I guess I'm so accustomed to us conceding possession, any time we actually influence play and have possession, it feels like we're on top. Which in hindsight, was the first half a lot more than the second.

After the Leeds win , under Eddie Howe we are now Played 10 , 10 points

1 point per game- which is arguably survival form in this season's PL. And a distinct improvement on the Bruce results

So overall not bad - considering some of the sides we have played in that time ( although we should have done better vs Norwich & Watford)

With signings hopefully set to be added - I'm feeling cautiously confident for first time in quite a while

Injection of optimism.
Hope restored
Chance to build some momentum
Our relegation rivals will worry
Fire just might have been lit underneath this NUFC machine
It’s the hope that kills <whistle>

Creeping sense of excitement, optimism and frankly a new realisation that we are now world football relevant.
Been a very significant transfer window already with a sense more is happening.
If ever a club and it’s fans deserved this brilliant step up, it’s Newcastle United Football club. <love>

Twitteratti now suggesting Wilson out for an extended time !!
Much as this is a blow I don’t think it’s condemning.
Enough in the squad imo to cover this and trust EH to manage the situation. Wilson tbf after all has had significant time out injured since we signed him. This latest news is hardly s surprise.
Position needs bolstering / replacing in sumner irrespective.
Wood now needs to do his job and I’m sure we have options to cover for Wilson.
Hopefully not too disastrous on our prospects …..🙏

Guessing everyone's feeling a bit more optimistic after two wins on the bounce? A long way to go yet mind.

The next 4 games are going to be huge for us
Villa h
West ham a
Brentford a
Brighton h

We need to get something out of these, 6 or 7 points could be realistic

If we win one of the next two (regardless if we lose the other) I think it’s decent.

Looking like an improving picture.
Everton ✅
Villa ✅
Just must take belief momentum and our new robust shape into the next few fixtures, and keep the determined spirit.
We can do this ✅

Dug ourselves out of a right hole, long way to go but keep everyone fit and the atmosphere weve got atm and no reason we cant stay up comfortably.

Agreed.
The unity cannot be understated. Even hack pundits are now recognising the strength of the atmosphere and the visual displays.

Unquestionably the most febrile and atmospheric stadium once again by some way …..

I think tbh it has been significantly influential on the opposition and our two most recent home victories.

Sadly my next attended home game fix won’t be until Palace 😤

Wow what a turnaround.
The OP obviously needs some therapy
Now 16-1 on relegation when we were odds on not that long ago.
Outstanding transformation and if we are to survive we will be the first team to survive having not won in first 14 games
Only us ! 🤣

Win against Southampton and it removes all relegation fears for me, 31 points with still plenty of winnable fixtures remaining and plenty of opportunities to pick up some draws, not even my most pessimistic moments would see me thinking about relegation.
