Eriksen to NUFC? No, Eriksen to MUFC
Rumours via a friend of a friend of a friend a couple of hours ago that he's booked to stay somewhere in Newcastle over the next few days, and in the last hour the odds have went from 25/1 to 3/1.
I'm either gonna look ITK as f***, or like a total bellend aren't I?
Let's have it

Is he in a hostel in Jesmond next to Barnetta?

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
Would be a cracking signing for us, Him, Bruno, Joelinton would easily give us a top 8 potentially 6, quality midfield.
Let hope you look itk as f***

Well me too, because I couldn't resist a tenner at 20/1Don Sholeone wrote: โWed Jun 22, 2022 4:39 pmWould be a cracking signing for us, Him, Bruno, Joelinton would easily give us a top 8 potentially 6, quality midfield.

Also on the plus side a vacancy has just opened up on this forum recently after the links to Thorgan Hazard emerged, we now need someone to be our target for ridicule. So whatever the outcome it's win win all around for TF.Aldridge Prior wrote: โWed Jun 22, 2022 4:43 pmWell me too, because I couldn't resist a tenner at 20/1Don Sholeone wrote: โWed Jun 22, 2022 4:39 pmWould be a cracking signing for us, Him, Bruno, Joelinton would easily give us a top 8 potentially 6, quality midfield.

Hostel? It was the Jesmond Dene House! Only the finest of historic hotel accommodations in Jesmond.
I can confirm I met Tranquillo Barnetta eating breakfast there during my honeymoon. Lovely chap - it may surprise people that he ordered the grilled craster kippers.

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
It'd be a massive coup if we pulled this off, but I'd think Man Utd will be strong favourites if he stays in the PL.

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
This. Would be a cracking signing. If he goes United he'll be rotating with other players in his position like Fernandes/Van De Beek/etc, not sure he'll be starting week in week out but with us he'll 100% be 1st choice CM/CAM.Don Sholeone wrote: โWed Jun 22, 2022 4:39 pmWould be a cracking signing for us, Him, Bruno, Joelinton would easily give us a top 8 potentially 6, quality midfield.

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
Obviously he's arrived yesterday, went straight to bed, and is now being given a tour of the town and stadium. Tomorrow he signs. Sunday announcement

Doesn't his contract end tomorrow?

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
Technically I think it ends tonight haha. Doesn't mean he has to have a next move set up already necessarily. As good as a signing he'd clearly be, I can't see us being able to offer anything that another team can't give and more so. Stay at Brentford he's still in London, be the main man, Danish contingent there as well. Go back to Spurs, stay in London, work with Conte again, CL football. Man U he might not be a guarenteed starter (maybe he should be though) but they'll throw money at him

Re: Eriksen to NUFC?
Eriksen would be a statement signing even on a free, though I don't think CM is our most pressing area of concern. If we did start the season with Joelinton, Bruno, Shelvey, Willock and Longstaff as our CM picks it's not bad.
A winger and a striker are far more important for the upcoming season as Wilson is made of glass and Wood will be a useful squad man but isn't going to get lots of goals.
Out wide we're quite reliant on ASM still, though Almiron did well at the end of last season he still doesn't provide enough goals/assists and Fraser will be more of a squad/rotation player too.
But obviously if it was the case that Eriksen was interested we'd be mad to pass on it!
