I got COVID in the early times and to note a long term f***ed up series of symptoms:

I'm tired. Literally I can seemingly sleep at any time of the day. I've no control of it at all.

My blood oxygen level essentially says go to hospital. It's at 85%. Stopped smoking and still f***ed

Mentally I can't retain an idea or task. I'm making notes to remind if notes in an Inception way. It doesn't feed well into the whole "remember" s***.

Somehow through all this s*** I'm doing ok and being asked to do more but it's gonna hurt me if I reject or accept the responsibility.

Do I come clear or just hide it?

Come clean about it, it will probably relieve some of the stress whereas hiding it will probably increase your stress levels and you'll become even more ill.

It's not really even a case of 'coming clean', that implies you've made a mistake or done something wrong, whereas what you're describing is being unwell. I'd say exactly what you've said above to your boss and say that's the reason that you can't take on any more.

Truly not the same person I was.

Definitely let them know. Nothing good has ever happened from bottling stuff up and I'm speaking from experience here. You'll instantly feel better from getting it off your chest and can then move forward.

Managed to get a second opinion from a GP who wants to get my blood oxygen levels up first if all so started taking iron supplements.

A few days in and a slight noticeable difference in the lethargy.

Mentioned the issues I'm having to my line manager and have been offered condensed hours to fit 37.5 hours into 4 days instead of 5. I already do between 10 to 12 hour days so not sure that'll help out and likely make my start if the week more hectic.

I'll crack on with supplements, keep off the ciggies, reduce my booze and try something called vegetables.

I thought about an air fryer but when I mentioned it to my wife, she went nuts and pointed at the bread maker, the meat grinder, the spare food processor, the mixing bowl and the sous vide kit gathering dust in the garage and made me think again.

My local council!!

Got disturbed in the late afternoon by council workers who looked to just be doing some local pruning of the trees. Looked outside an hour later to see they have felled the Cherry Blossom tree that was just outside of my house. Absolutely gutted and pretty angry. Honestly can't believe they have done it. I can't see how it can be justified, it's been there for well over 50-60 years and no issues with the houses either side of me.
