Hodgson has also "stepped down*" from Palace, and Mowbray is on sick leave from Birmingham City - busy day!

Rafa sacked by Celta Vigo after 8 months in charge - seems a bit of a busted flush nowadays.

4 spots lower in the table, with a GD already 3 goals worse than last season too. Without familiarity of their personnel decisions, nobody can suggest he's improved their performance.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 2:16 pmRafa sacked by Celta Vigo after 8 months in charge - seems a bit of a busted flush nowadays.

Shame, wasn’t that old really - similar age to my stepdad.
Obviously terrible for us, but not his fault he was given the job.

As mentioned above, whilst his time here may not be remembered well, hopefully he is. Rest well.

I think the club as a whole at the time was a shitshow which didn't help.Valentino's fast feet wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 11:00 pmThe only reason I'll ever remember who Simon Bird is.lassassinblanc wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 8:48 pmRip to him

He didn't make things easy for himself by getting players names wrong though given he was later diagnosed with dementia you have to think if that was the first sign.
It was always a big debate as to how he was never Ireland manager, on paper he should have gotten it ahead of McCarthy but I think FAI wanted a more media friendly face which as above Kinnear was not
I'll Hazard a guess

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread
How do you even go from his journeyman footballer career to managing a third-division UAE side (and following 2 promotions a tier 1 side), having not even played football there? Pretty bizarre stuff.overseasTOON wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2024 2:34 pmNever knew that Steven Taylor went into football management.

He won back to back promotions with his old club... And now is joining a start up club. Odd
I can see the Dubai lifestyle appealing to him

I was there last week. The UK never gets that kind of tropical rain storm. It was intense.bodacious benny wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 10:43 amThe rain there at the moment will make him feel at home.Colback's Orange Tufts wrote: ↑Sat Apr 20, 2024 8:57 amHe won back to back promotions with his old club... Like I've seen the likes in southeast Asia, but in UAE they have no drainage and concrete everywhere. Water up to my knees on a crossing. Hotels sandbagging the underground car park entrance so it doesn't flood
