MATCHDAY THREAD - NEWCASTLE UNITED v MANCHESTER CITY

Post by UlversToon » Sat Nov 30, 2019 11:18 am

#stolen from NUFC.COM

Somebody has to do it!

It's an early start for the Magpies today, when Pep Guardiola's side are the visitors to SJP for a 12.30pm kick-off, live on BT Sport.

Tickets remain on public sale, with 50,000 sold by Friday.

The NUFC Foodbank collection will be taking place as usual on Strawberry Place between 10am and Noon, with donations of selection boxes and festive food especially welcome.

And there's a special request for six pack egg boxes - either full or empty - as the Foodbank will shortly have access to a supply of fresh eggs, but don't have anything to put them in!

NUFC: Media reports on Friday night stated that Andy Carroll wouldn't be in the squad to face Manchester City due to a rib injury.

Speaking to the press on Friday, Steve Bruce revealed that DeAndre Yedlin was a doubt after struggling with a hip problem.

Sean Longstaff is available following his suspension but Jamaal Lascelles and Matt Ritchie remain sidelined due to injury.

Ritchie has undergone a second operation in as many months on the ankle damaged against Leicester City back in August. He's pencilled in to return to playing early next year.

Newcastle win 16/1
The draw 6/1
City win 2/11
BTTS, under 3.5 goals 9/2
Any scoring draw 8/1
City to come from behind and win 8/1

Their "Build Your Bet" option allows you to create bespoke odds and we've come up with these:

Almiron to score, City win 12/1
Andy Carroll to score in a draw 20/1
Newcastle no goals first half, win 33/1

MCFC: Sergio Aguero, Leroy Sane, Oleks Zinchenko and Aymeric Laporte are all definitely missing.

Ahead of their visit to Tyneside, City were in Champions League action on Tuesday night, drawing 1-1 with Shakhtar Donetsk.

A point was enough to confirm their place in the last 16 as group winners, with a game to spare.

Domestically this season, City have won four times on the road (West Ham, Bournemouth, Everton and Crystal Palace) and lost twice (Norwich City and Liverpool).

Disappointed with the same line-up. Only change is Manquillo which has been forced due to injury.. mind Yedlin and him are both not very good apart from One has pace and the other can be solid at times defensively. Would have liked to have seen the Longstaff brothers starting together as they seem to work better as a two than Hayden and Shelvey and would have started Schar over Dummet.

Saint Maximin taking on half the Man City team all by himself is a lovely sight.
